It is a resident breeder from Bermuda, through the southmost USA, Mexico and the Caribbean, to South America, and is found as far south as northern Brazil. Inca DoveThe Inca Dove (Scardafella inca) is a small New World dove; it might belong to the genus Columbina. It ranges from the southwestern United States and Mexico through Central America to Costa Rica; the Inca Dove only lives on the Pacific side of Central America. Despite being named after the Inca Empire, this species does not occur in any of the lands that constituted that region. Inca Doves are common to abundant within their range and they are expanding their range north and south. |

Mourning DoveThe Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura) is a member of the dove family Columbidae. The bird is also called the American Mourning Dove, and formerly was known as the Carolina Pigeon or Carolina Turtledove. It ranges from Central America to southern Canada, including offshore islands. Many individuals in northern areas migrate south to spend winter within the breeding range where January temperatures are above −12° Celsius (10°F). La Zenaida La Zenaida macroura es un ave que forma parte de las palomas o pichones, con tamaño regular cola larga y apuntada, presenta colores grises; gris castaño en la cabeza, dorso, rabadilla, coberteras de las alas y plumas centrales de la cola, gris oscuro en las plumas de vuelo de las alas. White-winged DoveMost populations of White-winged Doves are migratory, wintering in Mexico and Central America. The White-winged Dove inhabits scrub, woodlands, desert, and cultivated areas. It builds a flimsy stick nest in a tree and lays two cream-colored to white, unmarked eggs. Its flight is fast and direct, with the regular beats and occasional sharp flick of the wings that are characteristic of pigeons in general. Paloma bravíaLa paloma bravía (Columba livia) es el ancestro de las palomas domésticas, con las que hibrida. Cría en paredes rocosas. Se parece mucho a la paloma doméstica, pero éstas últimas tienen un ADN muy diverso y por lo tanto algunas presentan colores muy diferentes. Es difícil deslindar las poblaciones salvajes de las domésticas, y las primeras son cada vez menos frecuentes. |
